Iridescent Sculpted Ammonite Fossil Pendant | Copper Electroformed Necklace

Iridescent Sculpted Ammonite Fossil Pendant | Copper Electroformed Necklace
$325.50
This listing is for one electroformed pendant featuring a naturally iridescent ammonite. Ammonites are ancient fossils from the Cretaceous period and are closely related to living cephalopods like the squid, cuttlefish and octopus. I set a 4mm carnelian cabochon in the center of the spiral, sculpted and texturized the tentacles and other details by hand, and used a process called electroforming to encase part of the piece in copper. Wear this alone as a single pendant or combine with other pieces in your jewelry collection for a layered look.
This pendant includes a 28" extra strong adjustable hypoallergenic nylon cord. A 25” copper-finished chain is also an option, just message me or include a note when checking out if you prefer this.
Please remember that metals, including copper, will naturally oxidize and change color over time and with everyday weathering and wear. I have not treated this piece with a sealant over the metal in order to maintain a natural look and feel - let me know if you would prefer your purchase to be sealed and I can do so before it is shipped. Included with each order is a small jeweler's cloth so you have the option to polish later if needed.
NOTE: This pendant requires special care - avoid dropping on hard surfaces or compressing the sculpted sections. Exposure to abrasive materials may damage the delicate iridescent surface of the stone over time. To clean the ammonite, use a dry cloth or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals. You may carefully use a jeweler's polishing cloth on the copper, however be sure to avoid touching the fossil with the microabrasive fabric.
